Hello firearms world, My name is Todd Naylor,
I am one of the newest members of the Gunslingers. I haven't always been a large firearm enthusiast, but once I found out what I have been missing I couldn’t get enough. What I hope to share with you is a little bit about my background and what has brought me here.
As a little kid I can remember wearing my own little camo uniform. I loved running around my grandfather's farm playing soldier, and looking at all the military items he keeps in his home. My Grandfather served in the United States Army and my uncle serves in the United States Air Force, but other than that the military was not a large part of my growing up.
As I got older, firearms and the military got pushed out of my mind by sports, video games, and girls. I had opportunities as a boy scout to shoot rifles and bow and arrows, and I enjoyed doing so, but I never had any other real chances. For a while I had some friends that liked to mess around with airsoft guns. We would shoot each other and run around the backyard and have a great time. Airsoft started me into an understand of at least the idea of using firearms. As my friends and I got older we became more and more busy and didn't have time to go out anymore. This again led to my falling away from the gun world.
Lucky for me I married the love of my life and her family liked to shoot. One afternoon before we were married we went out and shot shotguns. I had never shot a shotgun before or tried hitting a moving target, but there is no better feeling than turning the clay pigeon into dust. Shortly after we were married, we visited my future brother in laws family and once again got to go out shooting. This time I had the chance to shoot my first semi-automatic weapons. My only experience was with .22 rifles, so shooting an AR-10 and AR-15 was exciting.
Ever since that day I got caught up in self defense and shooting, and even have aspirations of competing in 3-gun competitions. I am 100 percent for the second amendment, and the defense of our homes and families through whatever means necessary. I still consider myself a rookie with much to learn. This is my background and I can't wait to share with you where I end up!
